Last leaf....

We had snow this weekend. In October!!! In New Jersey!!! A lot of trees still have green leaves. It was really mind-blowing: green, gold, yellow, red leaves covered with white snow. Winter is coming and it's impossible to stop it. Really soon all gorgeous leaves and wonderful colors will be gone except one last leaf. Live Journal user macka_gothika found a way to save a warm piece of fall. These lovely leaves are brooches. Amazing, isn't it?

All these leaves are for sale. You can buy them here also you can visit online store to see or/and buy other creative art works made by macka-gothika.

One more stool

Last time I had a lot of posts about stools' remodeling and renovation. I don't even know why. Hope it's the last stool in row. Next time I'll post about another furniture piece, I promise.
The summer memories inspired vikulin to create this stool for kids. Summer rain, grandmother, milk and all other childhood memories make this stool so cute, so warm and tender:

A lot of other handmade ideas and lessons can be found in vikulin Live Journal blog. This particular stool can be found here. By the way -  this stool is for sell, so if you really like it you can buy it.

Advent calendars

What comes up in your mind when you're thinking about Christmas? Christmas tree, ornaments, snowman, Santa Claus, Rudolph, stockings, and advent calendars. Advent Calendar is a special calendar. It is used to count the days of Advent. In our days they are mostly are made for children and have many "windows". One window is opened everyday. Opened windows reveal poems, pictures, stories or small gifts.
These calendars are known from beginning of the 19th century and since that time they changed a lot. Now you can find calendars made from wood, fabric, paper. Any form, any size.
I found these amazing calendars in the HanHan's Stitching etsy shop. The artist has passion for embroidery by hand and always enjoyed all needlework.
This calendar will provide enjoyment for your family for years to come. It's a perfect gift for children!
Next one is even more lovely and cute. I LOVE it. Just take a look:
There are a lot of great handmade items in HanhansStitching shop. I am definitely sure - you can find something that was made just for you if you click here.

Wall Clocks by JesselynJoy

The main event of last week is ending of Daylight Saving Time. So today we talk about time, but actually clocks. Let me introduce today's featured artist Jesselyn  - 32 year old artist from Orange County. She really loves many different forms of art. In her etsy shop we can found wall clocks, journals and original art work. Everything she makes is really beautiful. But I was inspired by here wall clocks.
Her wall clocks are delicate and tender. She loves birds, to her they represent freedom and simplicity, so you will see them in a lot of her work. This is good example:
This little bird sit on a branch and soaks up the sun in this beautiful large clock. This bright 24" by 24" diamond shaped clock will not only tell you the time, but also will brighten your room and make you smile. It is hand painted with red, yellow, orange and black acrylic paint and lightly textured with joint compound on a thin piece of wood.
The floral ornaments on Jesselyn Joy are also amazing. Check out this beautiful clock:
This is a leaf green wall clock with silhouetted branches is hand painted on a  vinyl record, slightly textured with joint compound.
Next ones also have floral ornament and made from wood:
Jesselyn have traveled all over the world and much of her inspiration comes from those experiences.
She also works with Children at Risk all over the world, so at times her Etsy proceeds will go to support that work. So you can add some functional art to your interior and help child at the same time. There are clocks for any taste in her shop
